Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is a procedure performed to remove infected nerve tissue from the root canal system of a tooth
Traditionally if the nerve tissue of a tooth became infected, the whole tooth would have to be extracted. Root canal therapy can save a tooth from extraction by simply removing the infected tissue. Root canal treatment has a reputation for being painful, when in reality root canal treatment performed at our Armadal and Malvern dental practices should not cause any more discomfort than that of a regular filling.
Symptoms of infected nerve tissue include:
- Toothache and sensitivity
- Tenderness when chewing
If you experience any of these symptoms it is important to seek professional care from one of our dentists.
*Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
