Dr David Casper BDSc LDS

Dr David graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1977 and has been in practice for over 40 years. Starting a practice as a single practitioner, he is now one of the Principal Partners of Mint Dental which boasts almost 40 staff consisting of Dentists, Oral Health Therapists and Clinical and Front Office Coordinators.

His main clinical interests have always been restorative dentistry and minor oral surgery.

Dr David says that he has seen many changes within the profession over the years but what hasn’t changed is his connection with his patients and the chance to meet many new and interesting people from different backgrounds and cultures.

When he’s not treating patients, he’ll be at Marvel Stadium watching his beloved Saints or travelling abroad with his wife Sally.

Dr John Zeffert BDSc (WA) LDS

Born and raised in Perth, Dr John graduated from the University of Western Australia 1976.

In the 1980’s John moved to Melbourne and became one of the Principal Partners at Mint Dental in 2010. His experience and patience are invaluable and is regarded as a mentor amongst the associate dentists and oral health therapists.

John has an interest with implant dentistry and works closely with several specialist dentists to provide implants to replace missing teeth.

When not practising dentistry, John can be found in the gym or on the tennis court. John visits Perth regularly, where the majority of his family still live.

Dr Dora Klein-Gelbak BDSc (Melb)

Dr Dora Klein-Gelbak is an accomplished dentist with 10+ years of experience working exclusively in Private Practice. She is graduate of the University of Melbourne a member of the Australian Dental Association and is at the forefront of modern techniques with a strong emphasis on professional development and continuing education. Dora has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry with a focus on conservative resin veneers.

Dora prides herself on providing the highest level of care for her patients in a caring, punctual, personable and highly professional manner and maintains a maxim of always putting patient comfort and care first. She has expertise across a wide range of dental procedures including general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, paediatric and preventive dentistry, endodontics and minor oral surgery.

In her spare time, Dora enjoys cooking, travelling and attending the musicals that Melbourne has to offer.

Dr Bina Perelman BHSc MD

Dr Bina Perelman graduated with a Masters in Dentistry from La Trobe University in 2014. Before returning to life in Melbourne, she spent some time treating patients in the communities of rural Victoria including Bendigo, Mildura and Albury/Wodonga.

Dr Bina enjoys all aspects of general dentistry – in particular, preventative dentistry, paediatric dentistry and implantology. She takes pleasure in treating all ages, frequently volunteering her time to visit kindergartens and childcare services in hope of decreasing the anxiety associated with a child’s first dental visit.

As an active member of the Australian Dental Association and Australian Osseointegration Society, she continuously attends professional development courses to keep up to date with the best treatment modalities. In her free time, she is likely to experiment with new dessert recipes, spend time with her family or getting lost on a nature walk with her camera.

Dr Sandra Lew BDSc LDS

Dr Sandra Lew graduated from Melbourne University in 1976 and has been in continuous general practice. For 30 years she was the Principal Dentist at a nearby Caulfield practice until joining Mint Dental in 2016.

Her special interests include Children’s Dentistry, Endodontics, Dental Implants and Aesthetics. She has attended many Courses for Continuing Education and has embraced Minimally Invasive Dentistry. She regularly attends the Convocation of the RACDS, the European Society of Aesthetic Dentistry and the Australian Dental Association Congresses.

Dr Sandra takes great pride in retaining her patients for many years, seeing up to 3 generations of the same families.

She and Dr Harry Lew are proud parents and hands on Grandparents. Classical Music and Jazz are her passions and she regards close friendships as the greatest treasures in her life.

Dr Dhanya Sivathasan BDSc (Melb)

Dhanya had every intention of returning to her native Singapore after graduating, but (luckily for us) loved it so much in Melbourne she decided to stay!

She decided to become a dentist as she wanted to work within the health industry and enjoys working with her hands. What she likes most about dentistry is the potential to treat the disease immediately and to place patients on a sustainable plan that prevents future disease.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, particularly books on philosophy. Dhanya also enjoys traveling as well as trying out the different local cuisines each place has to offer.

Dr Galina Vinokurov BDSc (Melb)

Dr Galina graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2008 and has worked in private practice in Melbourne ever since.

Galina is passionate about preventative dentistry and making the dental experience as stress-free and pleasant as possible. Clinical interests include restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and endodontics. Galina enjoys pursuing continuing professional education and in 2015 completed a master’s program in implantology with the global institute for dental education.

Outside dentistry, Galina enjoys spending time with her husband and two young girls, reading and is currently addicted to podcasts.

Dr David Cui BDSc. (Melb)

Dr David has returned back to his hometown of Melbourne after 10 years looking after patients in Queensland. He enjoys all facets of general dentistry with a special interest in oral surgery and endodontics.

Out of his passion for dentistry, Dr David loves exploring Melbourne’s vibrant food scene and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Joey Ibrahim DDS (Melb)

Born and raised in Egypt, Joey moved to Melbourne in 2014 and graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Melbourne. Joey has a unique passion for family dentistry and enjoys working with patients of all ages.

Joey takes pride in ensuring his patients always come first and are provided the best possible care. He is devoted to making dental visits as comfortable and stress-free as possible, and will go the extra mile to do so for all his patients.

In his spare time, Joey enjoys experimenting with new cooking recipes, spending time with family and friends, playing various sports and travelling to new places.

Hygienists

Michelle Carthy AdvDip.Hyg (Adel) Gcert Dentistry (Adel) Dental Hygienist

Michelle began her dental career with the Australian Army, becoming a dental hygienist. After discharging, she went back to Adelaide to gain a Diploma in Dental Hygiene, then moved to Switzerland for the next 6 years to work with a Periodontist.

On her return to Australia, Michelle furthered her studies, gaining a graduate certification in Dentistry; providing advanced training in periodontal disease and prevention of tooth surface loss.

She has travelled interstate and worldwide to further her knowledge in gum disease management and hand instrumentation.

Michelle has over 26 years of dental experience and has now been part of the Mint Dental team for over 7 years. What she enjoys most about her role is being able to help people regain good oral health. Away from dentistry she enjoys activities such as horse riding, blues dancing, travelling and tinkering with cheese making.

Anna Harrison BOH (Otago) Oral Health Therapist

Originally from New Zealand, Anna graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Oral Health from Otago University. Work opportunities brought her to Australia and after a year in regional QLD, Anna moved to Melbourne to which she now calls home.

Anna appreciates all aspects of Oral Health Therapy but mostly enjoys building relationships and educating her patients on the importance of healthy teeth and gums.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys fitness, travel and anything outdoors.

Priscilla de Oliveira, Oral Health Therapist

Priscilla graduated from a Bachelor of Oral Health at Charles Sturt University in 2018. Wanting to up skill and increase her education she went and extended her scope of practice at the University of Sydney in 2019 to be qualified to treat individuals of all ages.

Priscilla focuses on preventative dentistry and loves to create a positive dental experience for her patients, especially those who experience dental anxiety. She has a calm yet bubbly personality, with a gentle skill to make patients feel comfortable. Priscilla takes pride in educating patients on how to best care for their oral health and improve their confidence with a healthy smile.

Outside of work Priscilla loves baking rustic breads, enjoys spending time with friends and family and taking her beloved dog, Chilli, on outdoor adventures.

Minh Thuy Le BOH (Melb) Oral Health Therapist

Minh Thuy graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Oral Health Sciences. She spent her first year working in the rural community setting, which allowed her to work closely with children at a young age and people from a variety of demographic backgrounds. She is known to be very gentle with patients and is very enthusiastic about a holistic approach to proactive prevention, minimal intervention dentistry, and educating patients so they are able to maintain good oral health.

In her own time, Minh Thuy enjoys hiking, cooking, drawing, and reading about a variety of topics from nutrition and health to personal development, fiction, and graphic novels.

Charlene Magpantay BOH, Oral Health Therapist

Graduating from a Bachelor of Science at the Australian National University in 2014, Charlene had an interest to follow a path to the dental industry. With years of chair-side experience, Charlene has worked in both general and Orthodontic practices. To make her own impact, she pursued further studies and completed a Bachelor of Oral Health at Charles Sturt University in 2018.

She is very enthusiastic about providing individual focus to every patient, understanding their specific needs, and with positive encouragement guiding them to improved dental health. Her skills, gentle touch, and calm manner have been appreciated by even the most nervous patients.

Charlene has a passion for missions and traveling – being part of dental charities to create a positive impact in Timor Leste and Cambodia.

Outside of work, Charlene loves being active and is an avid Melbourne foodie with her love of hunting down new cafes.

Katherine Shi BOH, Oral Health Therapist

Katherine graduated from a Bachelor of Oral Health at University of Melbourne.

While undergoing her studies, she was able to experience working in both the public and private sectors of dentistry. Seeing people from all walks of life, she developed a passion for preventive dental care and educating people on oral hygiene. She is focused on patient needs and makes it her mission to provide a positive and motivating experience each time a patient comes to the clinic. Katherine loves talking to patients and building relationships to make their dental experience an enjoyable one!

In her spare time, Katherine loves listening to podcasts, cooking dishes from various cuisines, and bike riding with friends.
